PROFILE

A Toronto-based journalist with a Master of Arts in English Literature and a background in digital media, she has spent over a decade at the intersection of fashion and technology. It began with a future fashion runway show at the Maker Festival Launch Party in Toronto and grew into Electric Runway: a media and events brand dedicated to documenting how technology is transforming the fashion industry.

Through Electric Runway, Amanda has presented as a keynote speaker to international delegations on fashion innovation across the US, Estonia, Berlin, Barcelona, Finland, Hong Kong, and Manila, and has reported from every stage of the fashion supply chain, from garment factories in Bangladesh to runway shows in Moscow. Her commentary has been featured on Global News, CBC, and TVO, and in publications including Adweek, The Toronto Star, and The Globe and Mail.

In 2024, she published her first book, ‘Electric Runway: How Emerging Technologies are Transforming the $3 Trillion Fashion Industry Around the World,’ drawing on more than 100 interviews with CEOs, founders, designers, and innovators to map the future of apparel, retail, manufacturing, and consumer experience. From AI to biotechnology, Amanda makes the complex conversations around fashion’s future accessible and urgent.
