PROFILE

Christina Funke Tegbe is a first-generation Nigerian-American entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of 54 Thrones, an award-winning beauty brand inspired by the rich botanical traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage of Africa. Founded in 2016, the brand celebrates the continent's diverse beauty rituals, with particular inspiration drawn from Nigeria.

What began as Christina's personal journey across Africa evolved into a globally recognised brand now stocked by Sephora, featured on ABC's Shark Tank, and named one of Oprah's Favorite Things. Her entrepreneurial journey has also earned her invitations to speak at Harvard University and recognition with the 2023 Fifteen Percent Pledge Achievement Award.

A serial entrepreneur with a passion for building purpose-driven brands, Christina is committed to reshaping global perceptions of African beauty and commerce. She is currently building OOO (Out of Office), a first-of-its-kind social wellness club set to open in Houston in late 2026. Designed for people the wellness industry was never intentionally built for, OOO brings together a café and bar, Pilates studio, treatment rooms, retail space, and community-focused experiences centred on physical health, mental wellbeing, and meaningful connection.

As she puts it, "I don't build brands to empower Africa. Africa has power. I build brands to engage in trade with it on its own terms."
