PROFILE

A fashion design graduate of Nottingham Trent University in the UK, Ladunni Lambo returned to Nigeria after graduating and presented her first collection as part of the Fashion Focus contest at Lagos Fashion and Design Week in 2013. She went on to gain experience at two of Nigeria’s most respected fashion houses, Maki Oh and Ituen Basi, before launching her eponymous womenswear label in 2016.

The Ladunni Lambo brand is built on a distinctive juxtaposition of modern silhouettes and traditional motifs, using cultural references from Lagos to tell stories that speak to women across the world — their heritage, identity, and journey through life.

Her debut collection, A Wife for Nana, told the story of a young woman navigating an arranged marriage to a village chief, and from the outset, her use of Aso-Oke woven into contemporary silhouettes became a signature of the brand.

The label has since shown at Lagos Fashion and Design Week, Oxford Fashion Scout, and Arise Fashion Week, and counts author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie among its clients. She has also launched INKHA, a fast fashion label, rounding out her work as a multi-brand creative entrepreneur. Beyond fashion, Ladunni is an interdisciplinary creative, curating art exhibitions, organising cultural events, and exploring storytelling through creative writing. She currently serves as Art and Cultural Coordinator at Alliance Française de Lagos, where she continues to bridge the worlds of fashion, culture, and community.
