PROFILE

An award-winning creative executive, journalist, and storyteller, Marielle Bobo’s 25-year career has shaped culture at the intersection of fashion, media, and innovation. She began at Wilhelmina Models before transitioning to journalism, building her editorial voice across Allure, CosmoGirl, WWD, Vanity Fair, Self, Glamour, and Harper’s Bazaar.

As Fashion Director at Essence, she expanded the brand’s global fashion footprint, spearheading the Fashion House experiential series across New York, New Orleans, and Lagos, spotlighting Black creatives worldwide. She went on to serve as Founding Editorial Director of Ayesha Curry’s lifestyle venture Sweet July, before being named Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President of Programming at EBONY, where she led a digital transformation that introduced motion covers blending photography with AI, AR, and video, reestablishing the brand as a cultural force for a new generation.

Her styling and creative direction have graced more than 100 magazine covers. Today, through her consultancy BoboHaus, she develops brand strategy and storytelling frameworks for clients across industries, most recently contributing to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2025 Costume Institute exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, the first to explore the Black dandy and fashion’s role in shaping Black identities across the Atlantic diaspora. Of Haitian descent, she is also currently developing an anthology celebrating Haitian-born creatives and their diaspora.
