PROFILE

Oke Maduewesi began her career in banking, holding leadership roles at Zenith Bank and Intercontinental Bank in Nigeria before leaping into entrepreneurship. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality beauty products designed specifically for African skin tones, she founded Zaron Cosmetics in 2011 with a vision to create accessible, premium beauty solutions for women across the continent. What started as a single cosmetics brand has since evolved into the Zaron Group, one of Africa's leading beauty companies.

Over the past decade, Maduewesi has become one of Africa's most influential beauty entrepreneurs, expanding Zaron through an extensive network of franchise stores and hundreds of distributors across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond cosmetics, she has championed women's empowerment through initiatives such as Zaron Widows' Day, Hunger-Free Day, and nationwide food drives, while serving on corporate boards including Trustfund Pensions Limited.

In recent years, she has completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and Kellogg School of Management, and in 2026 was recognised among Africa's leading women of impact and celebrated as one of the beauty icons transforming Nigeria's cosmetics industry.
