PROFILE

Franco-Ghanaian and London-based, Rebecca Osei-Baidoo is one of the most respected buying talents in luxury fashion retail. She began where many great careers do — on the shop floor, selling clothes at Selfridges — before working her way up through internships and assistant roles that gave her a ground-level understanding of how fashion actually moves.

She spent four formative years as a womenswear buyer at Browns Fashion, where she introduced 45 new brands and established the store's social media presence. Her most lasting contribution there was Browns Focus, an ultra-hip lab boutique that became the hub for some of fashion's freshest talents, including Filles à Papa, A.W.A.K.E, and Simone Rocha. It was also Rebecca who orchestrated Drake's debut OVO collection drop at Browns in 2014, with customers queuing outside the store for 24 hours before doors opened, and the collection selling out entirely.

Across her career, she has bought and championed brands including Chloé, Alaïa, Stella McCartney, and Missoni, before returning to Selfridges as Women's Ready-to-Wear Buying Manager. A veteran of the GTCO Fashion Weekend masterclass stage, Rebecca is one of the industry's clearest and most generous voices on how to get your product into the right stores and how to make it stay there.
